when i accelerate then decelerate around the 40- 60mph mark, it makes a loud shingging noise. help!!!!

Do you mean pinking? Like the sound of stodgy tappets or something? What engine do you have? Any holes in zorst? |

if you look into the engine bay its too the left,for some reason it only ever makes the noise when its doing between 40-50 decleration

has the car been decated? if it aint that might be rattling. Cus mine made that noise on my escort, got it decated and it was fine. |

no its not been decated! ive just fitted a new alternator and when i stated the engine, when i braked the lights came on and when i came to a stop and turned the engine off if i still had my foot on the brake it would rill run even thou the keys out, i let go and it stops!!

found out wot it was guys!! i went down to a ford dealer and they had a look it was my cat heat sheild! one of the welds had fell off and was smacking against the cat! cheers for the info you all gave!!
