yeah thas rite 1.6 sensor in the 2.0 housing, i dont wanna put the little restictive 1.6 maf back on, it would defeat the object of the 2.0 throttle body, removing the chip just brings back the horrible 4k rpm super flat spot, plug the maf back in = flat spot untill over 5k rpm, thinking perhaps the lambda? whatdoya recon?

Well, your 1.6 MAF in the 2.0 housing won't help. The MAF will be calibrated for a specific amount of air to pass through it. By putting this into something with more air passing through, it may be the cause of your problems.

Try putting a 1.6 MAF housing back on and see if that cures it. If it does, you'll have to deal with it not being a 2.0 one, despite it being a bit more restrictive.

If that doesn't work, then it could be a few other things, like you say lambda sensor. Might be your idle speed control valve playing up.

your 1.6 ECU will be designed for the 1.6 sensor, housing, TB etc

unless you have your car professionaly remapped to take the 2.0 TB you will probably be lessening your performance rather than doing it any good

as des said.. try putting all the 1.6 stuff on (TB included) and let us know what happenes.. then we can go from there

edit your sig, 70bhp.. there standard at 90bhp..

alrite kelio, at some point when im not at uni or work, i'll try swapping the tps on the 2.0 body, for the 1.6 so its getting the correct voltage for how far the throttle is open(i dont think it will resolve the problem), if that makes no difference then i'll try the really restrictive body(again i dont think this is the problem it will probably slow the thing down more) (just for the record, when i first fitted the 2.0 throttle body the responce was awesome and did proove to be worth while there was more responce @ 5000rpm not to mention a much throatier sound at low revs , its just somewhere along the line something else has gone skewiff i.e a sensor) everything seems to be as soon as a maf sensor is plugged in [any maf], i even tried a maf from a 1.6 esc, fez + mond from mr scrap man (who gave me a funny look everytime), swapping them over driving a few miles swapping drivin unpluging drivin, its driving me crazy (apparently the ecu calibrates its self after fitting another maf? is this true?)

i know this is rather odd, but would someone whos si isnt to crazyly modded go for a rag down a long stretch, then unplug there maf and go again and see if there is a noticable difference?

oh yeah i kno the si is 89bhp standard, but mines an estimation based on the ages of engine and milage and current maf problem, id like to get it on a rolling road once i fit my kent cams and get a reading, im reconing about 96bhp including other little mods

you sound like a bit of a tit.

Listen to what people are saying FFS

Take the 2.0 MAF housing off your 1.6. chuck it in the bin. thats how much use it is on the 1.6.
use the 1.6 MAF housing, 1.6 fiesta MAF element, 1.6 or 2.0 Throttle body, 1.6 or 2.0 TPS.

Been there, done that.
If you wanna use 2.0 bits, put the 2.0 in in the first place

The size of the MAF makes no difference to airflow into the engine so therefore put the right MAF sensor back in the right housing. All a MAF does is detect the amount of air passing it. This is done by heating the sensor and the air passing it cools the element which then tells the ECU how much air has passed by determining how much extra current is needed to bring the element upto the right temp so the ECU doesn't need calibrating, neither does the MAF. One other thing is that the size of the throttle body makes very little difference too because your 1.6 will only draw in the necessary air it needs so you could have a 6" diameter butterfly on there but the engine will only allow in what it needs. Take off the superchip, put everything back to standard and see if it works ok from there. If it does then you can start to put parts on the car ONE by ONE to "upgrade" your engine and see if there is any detrimental difference. If there is you then know what has caused the problem and you can deal with the problem where as if you change 5 things you won't know which is wrong as it could be any of the 5 items you installed.
