series 1 and 2 zetec engines are the same

as far as i know the series 2 zetec had the stick valve problem sorted out, not 100% tho

but £175 is a not a bad price at all[cool]

is there anything that could be done to stop the valves from sticking?

i mean what is it that causes it? just a build up of crap/gunk?

the only thing that will help the stick valve situation is using the correct grade of oil which i believe is 5/30w

i have a series 1 2.0 engine in my Si and i use 5/30w and its fine no problems at all

No huge difference really between the S1 and S2 bar the lifter problem! But that should affect you if you use the correct oil!

Look on ebay im sure you will find one cheaper!

so what is a good/decent price for 1 delivered then?

If that one for £175 comes with the MAF and ECU, and you have the cash to get it, I would get it.

Just remember that you can get cheaper engines like some have done, like buying an old mondeo and stripping it yourself, but that takes time, effort and space.

So in my eyes, its worth paying for one delivered if its got all the stuff and is a decent engine.

I'm possibly buying one for £150, which is 5 miles from me, which saves me a hell of alot of hassle.
