car just failed on emmisions so not to bad, but needing a new cat/lambda sensor. Was thinking about getting a new free flowing sports cat, but I read that the cat comes connected to the downpipe assembly. SO really wondering how you go about fitting a sports cat if the OEM cat is pernamently attached to the down pipe, would you have to just beat the old one to crap to get it off?

ive got one thats been chopped off from the downpipe for my naughty decat...

lol yup dont worry wasnt plannng on it, still got a fair bit of MOT left on it, just thought id put it thro cuz I thought everything was good on it. SO not in a rush for one yet.

Scrap that, if you've put your car for an MOT and its failed, The MOT that you had before is now void, So if your driving your car now, your breaking the law as it has NO MOT!

New laws on MOT says so! So you do actually need to get it sorted retested and passed!

daft question have you tuned your engine in any way, especially a power boost valve for fuel pressure?
Having just the co high does sound like a cat. i take it the car gets driven hard every so often, if the engine isnt worked hard ocassionally it can lead to strange emissions.

um nope no engine mods, am getting it sound before I spend dosh on that. Umm yea it gets raped fairly often lol.

I have just put a car thru the MOT which failed on emmisions. The car i was testing was Scorpio Ultima 2.3 and CO was crackers off the scale, should be 0.200 and was 1.399 +, so i contacted ford who wanted £120 + VAT and that was to me as a motor trader, but i looked on ebay at one of my regular places i buy from and got a brand new sensor for £25 inc postage. Buy one of these, all you have to do is put your old plug on the end by soldering it on to the new one and the Scorpio flew thru its test with readings of 0.060 (0.200max).
