Well i just removed the one off my si and it was a piece of p!ss to remove, 1 bolt inside the engine bay connecting to the rack and a couple inside and then it just slides out! obviously you have to remove the plastics around the wheel etc. (i wish i'd done a guide now) |

there easy, aslong as you can undo the bolt holding coloumn to the steering rack, if you do it yourself do this one first but leave coloumn pushed on rack until your ready to change it. The column plastics come of first, four star drive screw if i remeber right from the bottom and the lower half drops away, then there are two more holdin the upper piece. Next is the airbag ( i always wear latex gloves for this so your airbag is less likely set of by static in your finger). its held on be two star drives from the back of the steering wheel, when they are undone gently take airbag away from wheel and remove electrical connection from back, it just pulls straight off. i will tell you know this is when most go off!! dont sit infront of airbag, hold it in palm of one hand so if it goes of it jumps out of it and smashes anything but your face put it in the boot and close it. Make sure steering wheel is straight now. undue the centre nut, wind it back on 2 threads and keep pulling and smacking the wheel untill it frees from coloumn, the nut stops you falling about if it comes of suddenly. If i remember you unplug the indicator stalks, bonnet release cable and the key transeiver from around the end of the key barrel held on by 1 screw. undo two thirteen mm bolts or nuts and the whole thing just comes straight out. Did mine a few years ago and took about three parts of an hour. The haynes manual looking at it does quite a good job of explaining it. Might have to tap off coloumn from steering rack with a small hammer. |

sorry forgot the battery,be carefull it can still be set of with the static in your chubby finger wear a latex glove to reduce the chances when unplugging it. must admit never disconnected batteries at the garage because of the hassle of customers with losing radio stations and problems with alarms and shit. |

If your on about the coloumn steering UJ it only comes with the whole column, they dont just do a uj on its own as you can get with non powersteering. Ford garages around here have loads of the things in stock. |
