there is no flexi pipe on the exhaust of a 16v Si.
the ashley one is IIRC the only off the shelf manifold for the zetec e engine.
and the lambda sensor boss is in the correct place

Just my personal opinion, as we have discussed on here before. I'm sure they'll do the job for people, but I personally wouldn't go for one

well if it didnt have a flexi pipe the exhaust/ downpipe would crack under engine torque the flexi part of the exhaust has to be were the manifold joins the downpipe and theres a cat ring that seals them and to bolt it up theres two springs either side that helps it flex!!!!!

you can buy flexi's and lambda boss' off ebay for near nothing then you can just put the flexi underneath the engine where the down pipe meets the exhaust system.
heres a quick pic of mine when i was making it up.

oh, the flexible joint where the manifold and downpipe meet.
TBH cant see that moving tooo much.
you can fit a flexi pipe to your exhaust though

aahhh goaty very good idea but can you just pull off your 421 manifold and replace it with the old manifold and downpipe for cat purposes and mot ???

also what manifold is it ashley ??

Hey,
Its a Tony Law manifold, and yeah it can just be pulled off. Its a pain to do but it can be done and the standard manifold and downpipe with cat can just be bolted on.
Works really well just it really is a pain to remove as it tends to stick together and you have to work it off slowly and patiantly.
