Ok all , just put my 1400 si on the road after being off the road and the sump is rotten , i have a new sump but cannot afford to get it fitted yet , does anybody know a cheap and easy way of keeping my oil in the sump until such times as i can afford to get my new sump fitted , have tried fibre glass matting andit kept it in for 1 day without leaking , but its now losing about a litre a day and i really dont wanna run the risk of killing the engine , and i need the car for work so any help or sugestions would be greatly appreciated

ah i got ya.
if you can clean it so not oil is on it then you stand a chance.

grind the area up so its bear clean metal where the glue is gunna be, dont grind over the hole as your push cr@p in.
get a plate of metal and glue it on, i was thinking of stuff i got but you cant buy that so your best bet would be a resin.
if you would drill holes in the sump i would of said screw the plate on with resin between the sump and plate but your gunna put swarf in the sump.

if you can get some liquid metal, devcon i think its called that will be great, and provided the meatl is clean it wont come off.

dunno if devcon is how its spelt though
