...of a timing belt which has jump a tooth? ![]() as some may be aware, had a few issues with mine recently. been working on it this morning with all sensors plugged in, then engine idles at around 2000Rpm. the performance of the engine is generally ok, just has the occasional misfire. when i unplug the cam sensor the engine idles at around 1000Rpm. like it should. appears to respond fine as it should. now that says to me that bottom(crank) and top(cam) sensor's aren't working together. ie, engine out if time. sound good to anyone else? checked all earth's and vacuum lines. cam sensor has been changed for one that's known to work. gonna strip it down so it can be checked. JJ |

well it's looking like my prognosis was correct. took rocker cover off today, turned engine over to try and get cam locking tool in place in back of cams. couldnt get them to line up. so it's jump a few teeth. luckily no disturbing noises were heard from it. gonna have a go at timing it up when i get a big enough torx bit to loosen cam pulleys JJ |
