Hmm, as subject says really.. Leaky patch has been appearing for a few weeks now each morning. It's slightly oily. Is running from the region of the PAS header? tank. Drips down all over the alternator and then onto the road. Also a bit of a patch around sump although i think thats me bodging things and forgetting a sump plug washer ![]() ![]() Anyway back on topic: I think the main power steering pipe that comes up from the back of the engine and into the fluid reservoir is leaking.. its got a fair amount of oil around it. So i am asking: Are there any common faults like this? with the power steering going? The level isnt bad but its deffinately enough to get me out of my chair and under the bonnet. Any ideas would be nice before i replace pipes that didnt need it ![]() Cheers, Paul |

I had a similar problem, found out in my case it was the coolant leaking from the end of the rubber hose towards the front, that connects to the rubber hose connected to the water rail. Only leaked when the engine was turned on or cooling down though because of the pressure. |

should get it up on a ramp 2moro so ill put some pics up probably. um i noticed that pipe you just mentioned dripping a fair bit so it might just be coolant (as my coolant is a nasty colour - might do a coolant change too). Only thing is the "liquid" is more oil based as it leaves a patch on the road for a few days. Paul |

If your coolant is horrible and brown, it will leave a patch on the road. I think my alternator is still covered in it from this incident: http://www.fiesta-si.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=195 Have a read of that. It seems everybody's lower rad hose is going at the same time ![]() ![]() I think its a conspiracy from Ford ![]() |

Aye that's the same problem as mine, didn't realise mine was empty until I saw the patch on the driveway. Was wondering why my fan kept kicking in ![]() |

yes mate. I am actually quite amazed at everyones going within a few weeks from each other. ![]() I may well put up a guide when i change it seeing as everyones is bound to go within the next few weeks. (just have to work a week before i can buy the new pipe ![]() Why won't the government recognise that without a minimum wage for apprentices, we wont have any left, and with no apprentices, we'll run out of people with a trade and then the country will brake down into a country of morons because the government couldnt invest another 2 quid an hour. /rant over. |

Mine's leaking again, not as bad as before though, which makes it even worse, can't see where it's leaking from, it takes at least 2 weeks to empty the bottle ![]() |
