when you first start it you should hold at fast idle ~2500RPM for a while. the tapping is the lifters. they need oil pumping in them. JJ |

cheers again for the reply jd, i will check for any air leaks and i will check the alternator lead ( have you have a pic so i can make sure i have it right or is there only one way they go on?) i will give the ISCV a clean and see if i can find another MAF (does it have to be from the same car the ECU came from ![]() i will update the thread with what i find Terry |

i should imagine it would be a socket, like the ones you use to do a lambda probe/sensor.. have a look for special sockets in halfords.. well worth having, can use them for all engine switches and stuff |

i think you would indeed also a naffed lambda may cause this (mates VTS had a lambda die and wouldent run properly at all) |
