hey there, ages ago posted how my car keeps kangaroo jumping when i change gears, and how it has a complete lack of power most of the time then every so often a wee bit of beasting power unleashes itself, also how it has a tendancy to stall (either too much air or like its not getting enough fuel) well i changed my leads, spark plugs, fuel n oil filter, gave an oil change, cleaned out air filter, didnt do nowt, so went n bought a new distributor thinking that would do it, as i was told from folk, but nope still doin everythin mentioned above

so any more ideas as its not funny anymore the amount of people looking at me like i cannae drive and that its me thats stalling the car! no jokes lol...

thinking could it maybe be the ecu? god knows in dispair folks, someone must know the problem

:(

thats the one

also try checking your Lambda sensor (if they have them on the si's?)
its a sensor on the exhaust pipe somwhere :D

as it could be telling your ECU funny things making it overfuel or worse underfuel

70 is nothing

my mate got quoted £135 fro a lambda for his saxo VTS from citroen (he had the same problems you describe)

so he got an NGK one for the bargain price of £50 and its cured the problem :D

see about aftermarket lambdas.. take youir out and have a look at it.. if it looks ok.. clean it up and put it back in :D

Your MAF sensor is plugged in as it can go all jumpy when its disconected!

Had the same problem with mine until I read this thread.

Took JJ's advice and cleaned the MAF wires with some carb cleaner and a toothbrush.

Now running sweet as...

Hurrah!

You need a Torx 20 (tamperproof version) bit or driver.

Here's a few:

I think the Halfords one is probably best value for money. Never thought I'd say that
