Hi people. My car has its MOT due soon but a few things worry me :? :?

1. First off, is this a leak, wot is it and will my car fail because of it?

2. I think my wishbones need replaced when I swap the suspension, but went to a motor shop today and the guy said there's 8 different types of bottom arm. Can anyone tell me wot the bottom arm on a 1.6 Si is like and if the ones I have on are shot or ok?

3. This is where my spare tyre is kept, is this ok?Image
4. I think I have a petrol leak. Will rad-weld or an exhaust bandage fix it or do I need a new tank?


Thanks people and does anyone know if a Mondeo 2.5 V6 will fit in a Fezza??? :?

Right... if it is a petrol leek u need to find the hole!
is in leekin from the pipe or the tank?...
either 1 you can fix with somthing called (plastic padding) its a 2 part appoxie resin wich will fix almost every kind of leek you could think of,
it works on rubber hosing, metal piping,
plastic tanks, metal tanks.. ect ect...
you'll probly find some in ur local auto shop or if not go to wilkos or a diy store... but it realy is the beez ballax

8 different types of lower arms? :lol: That's a first for me. There's mk3 and mk3.5 and power steering or non power steering for each as far as I'm aware. Even so, he should be able to tell you which you need by you telling him what car you have :rolleyes: But them ones look ok to me, your bushes dont look split. :)

As for the spare wheel tray, just brush off the loose rust and see how solid it is. If it's not crumbling away and likely to break, then you should be fine with that. Make sure the hook is solid on it too. :)

The leak, care to expand on where you took the pic? Looks like gearbox, but cant be sure. If it is, it may just be overflow from the last time the gearbox had its oil topped up, as it doesn't look particularly wet. :)

it will most probably fail on the lower arms its a very common fault with fiestas i'd do as des said tho mate get 2 new ford arms if u can don't do what i do and buy cheap pattern ones they don't last long at all and get the tracking done asap afterwards

i have just had to replace mine coz it was pullin to one side when i accelerate
and when i let off it went the opposite way.........i nearly stacked it down the A12 over some bumps. :o

wasn't speedin thou :rolleyes:
