hello people,just after a bit of advice ive had my fiesta si for over 2 years now and have a lot of mods one including a pipercross induction kit which i think could be my problem,when im driving in hot weather for around 15 mins,sometimes when i pull away in 1st or change to 2nd i get a bit of juddering or stuttering,it's like theirs not quite enough cold air feeding into the engine?or petrol isn't getting to the engine for that odd like 1 or 2 secs!! has any1 had similar problems? im pretty sure it must be 2 do with air or my induction kit as i don't think i had the problem b4 i installed the induction kit or in crap weather! suggestions or advice welcome,thanks. |

Fuel filter maybe? When was that last changed? But in this hot weather, the engine bay gets soooooo damn hot. Have you took the sound deadening off the inside of the bonnet? If not take that off. And try taking off the rubber seal that goes along the top of the bulkhead to allow some warm air out. Have you got a cold air feed to the induction kit? Start with the cheapest option first, and go from there

Dont bother with the power boost valve, not worth it. As for it not being a Viper, it doesn't matter, just get some flexible, bendy piping and route it from the bottom of the car up towards the air filter, this will direct cooler air to your air filter. Another thing to try is taking off your air filter, and cleaning the throttle intake (EFI) and the MAF sensor with some carburettor cleaner. Literally just spray it in to get rid of the build up of crap over the years. I used to do this regularly. You'll see the difference on the mesh of the air intake which the MAF is connected to. |
