Recently rebuilt my engine in my escort been taking it out for a run and it's been getting hot a lot quicker than my old one and runs hotter as well. It's only done 20 miles and everything had been replaced its had a .5 rebore with new pistons shells and rings. It's got a new s1 airtech radiator and twin fans all new water pump oils pump hoses thermostat everything. Is this normal or is something seriously wrong |

Changed all the temperature switches and because it was running hot put the old ones out of my original engine in to see if that was the problem but still the same |

When you say overheating, where are you getting this from? Is the gauge going into the red? You say you have a new thermostat in it yes? |

It'd be stuck shut if anything. Just because it's new doesn't mean it's working. That'd be the first port of call for me to check. And is it the right one for the car? Can't remember who it was on here, think Phil, who had one that was a couple of degree's difference for the engine, and was causing it to be too cold. |

Well i have ordered a 82° stat from burton to try that.at the moment there is a 88° Quinton Hazell 1 in there. my bro fitted Quinton Hazell to his mk2 fiesta and his tempreture has been rising higher than it ever use to.after looking into Quinton Hazell thermostats some guy on another forum had a 88° stat that didnt open fully until over 100° |
