Post subject: | Hello and question |
Hi everyone, I'm new here. I've just bought a '95 XR2i (130 hp, RS1800 in the UK). I got the car for a great price, but it needs some work. My biggest problem is that it has an earlier non-airbag XR2i steering wheel on it and behind it cut wires for the airbag (no plug). Two questions: what needs to be replaced for me to have a worked airbag steering wheel and exactly what type of wheel did RS1800s come with (I've read Si and up came with a smaller wheel)? The airbag bulb is missing from the instrument cluster btw. |

one thing to bear in mind is evey airbag on a mk3 fiesta has a shelf life of 15 years so all are out of date and don't work ![]() |

So steering wheel is the same, I think steering wheels from mk4 and 5 fiesta fits also, you'll need the air bag clock spring and possibly the plug that goes into the clock spring |

I think its all run from the box above the glove box isnt it? New cars have different ones but I think the fez has an old school setup. Maybe Meilack can try with his new toy and let us know what happens?!? Paul |
