lads. spent an hour today laying the engine loom out and connecting up what i could. this is the bit that im shitting myself about because of what i have to do to make it work (according to fiesta guides). seems as though i have to alter a fair bit. its stuff like changing the main loom plug which connects up to the interior loom because you need certain pins out of that one. and its getting me down big time and making me want to quit because i dont know where to start. the 1.6si loom i got should have all this stuff on so i shouldnt have an issue sourcing it. but i dont know, just stuck! here's the link to fiesta guides, its about 3/4's of the way down to show what i mean. if someone can shed some light or give me a kick up the arse id appreciate it. http://www.fiestaguides.co.uk/content/e ... rsion.html Ben |

One question, are you using a 1.6 interior loom and fusebox or the 1.4 loom and fusebox? |

Would be 10,000 times easier to use a 1.6 interior loom yes. Why is it chopped up? |

god knows. exterior loom was the only one intact. if i used the 1.6 loom i wouldnt have to do the changes i need to do for the cvh know? literally just a swap? i think for the time it will take to swap all the loom over, dropping the fuel tank etc i think i must just do what i need to do and follow the guide, but its so fucking hard to follow lol! |

Yeah you could just swap it over and have no problems at all. Fusebox will have all the right relays ect too then. Its hassle but it will be worth it. The time it will take you to modify this loom and set your car on fire in the process due to wiring it wrong compared to swapping an interior loom over... I know what I would do ![]() It's up to you though really. I'm not saying you WILL set your car on fire, but I will place £1 on it ![]() |

thanks Danny, i think im going to bite the bullet and keep the 1.4 loom. in all fairness, i tihnk it would be even worse swapping it as id have to join stuff up in the zetec loom as its cut in places and missing stuff etc. thanks paul. i did end up having the dash out ready to change it over, but then realised it wasnt completely necessary then left the issue of figuring it out to future ben... now its the future from that decision i have to figure it out... damn you past ben... anyway less of this im a loopy cunt talk. if i take my time, and read it 1000 times i should understand it. its just the effort of relocating everything and untangling it all! as long as a make a safe connection and insulate it properly, there should be too much of an issue! looks like this will be fun... |

I'd ask the person who sent you the zetec loom for a refund because you cannot use it. Then go buy a complete loom, sorted ![]() |
