Just fitted a small 3 gallon fuel tank, but while under the car noticed a crack in the main chassis rail behind the rear beam mount, i think its as a result of running slicks and the extra forces it puts through the chassis. bodywork is getting poor with rust in usual arches etc. Question is do i scrap it a buy something else like the ebay link below, or patch it up or worse case try find a sound fiesta or ex race shell and swap all the bits Peugeot 106 rallye crack ![]() new tank ![]() |

I very much doubt that bhp figure stated on the rallye a number of items on it aren't up to the job for that power for example, A Raceland induction wont flow enough, other thing is id ditch the unichip and get Wayne at chipwizards to remap it. If highflow heads have been anywhere near it walkaway! ![]() My opinion keep yours fix it and make it better you'll only kick yourself later down the line missing it. |

I think you should keep it Will, you've put a lot of hard work into it over the years, it'll be worth keeping! ![]() |

Had decided to patch it up so took the rear beam off this morning and had more of a dig at the rust and kept finding more and more! rethinking again if to bother or scrap it, it wouldnt be so bad if didnt have to do on a shared drive outside. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

If you're loving the Si still then weld it up - mine was nearly that bad and I had it sorted. Rallye's are a great choice and muchos fun, but like Matt said, stay away from that one, much nicer examples out there - agree on the highflow heads comment. |

My fiesta has the same problem, removed the rear beam and most of the area that it was bolted to on the drivers side came with it, welded it up and thought nothing of it, had loads of problems with the car not handling they way I wanted it to, just alsway felt sloppy in the bends, so I poly bushed it, rose jointed bottom arms, better tyres and brakes and it only made things worse, i replaced the drivers side sill a few weeks after to discover the complete lack of anything structural in the chassis, the grinder cut through the metal like tissue paper, all the was left was the previous bit of welding and the new sill panel I welded back on to last till my mot, my car wouldn't handle right as the rear of the shell was literally twisting away from the rest of the car, as hard as it is to do, I had to give up on my fiesta, I only ever used it on the road and it was bad enough to drive, so if your using yours on track it's going through more stress then mine ever did, if I were you, I'd cut the sills off and inspect the condition of the stretch ending panels that go up into your A, B and C pillars before you make a final decision |

started to weld it up, think it will survive another hard year on track when done and be at least stronger than it was before and look better with a new wheel arch. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
