right let me start by saying this is not my car its a mates car and a mk4/5 fiesta there having trouble and well here are... this is what i know... what ive been told anyone work out what they've said. lol

The heating hadnt been working for a while it was just blowing out hot air all the time.

Then other day when i was in cambridge there was smoke (i recon steam) coming out of the bonnet and all the water had leaked and run out of the cooling system.

they called to AA and he said there was a leak in a valve so he dsiconnected it. its the valve that connects the water to the heating...

any ideas whats up would be good.
thermastate? but would that explain why hot air was blowing all the time?
they currently don't have any heating at all atm in the motor

Open the bonnet, then look at the centre of the scuttle panel and you'll see two pipes go through it. It's there. 4 pipe grip clips and off it comes after two bolts.

As far as I know it's the same for mk4's and 5's. Moving the scuttle panel panel can help make things a lot easier.

My missus has a mk4 (will be getting her on here as its a no rusty arches mk4) and its an R reg.

no need to remove the scuttle panel to remove them
they are the same on the mk4 and 5 fiesta very common problem and can cause the car to over heat aswell
id also give the coolant system a good flush out aswell.
another common problem is the thromostat houseing can leak aswell

no you can get pattern parts on ebay for £10 plus but your better off going for a ford one. last time i bought one it was £30 ish
