Post subject:	thermostat housing/temp gauge
on the zetecs the thermostat housing they have 2 switchs on them and one in the rad.just wondering what the 2 are for on the thermostat housing. also the temp gauge in my car decides to work when it wants to is it the clocks or the temp switch.

Hi there, The two on the Zetec are for the temp gauge and the ECU. The one on the top is for the ECU so it knows whether its a cold start or not. The one on the front under the hose is the one for the temp gauge. Sounds like your sensor has gone, I would replace it as its cheap as chips from Ford. Paul
