Right, Got the Samcos in, new head gasket on and new thermostat and header tank cap on and car runs nicely now. Needle generally sits around the O and occasionally pops up to the N in town but the fan comes on. Problem is once I park it up I end up with a puddle under the alternator. Can't see anything leaking out of any hose connectiosn and all jubilee clips are tight. Is this likely to be the water pump gasket giving way? or any other ideas? Just looking for some other folks opinions before I rip the timing belt off again. Oh, and how much of a bugger is the water pump to change in situ? Cheers Paul |

Can you not see where the water is coming from at all? Might be worth jacking it up to have a look underneith. Water pump change would mean cambelt needs to come off. Could be the pump itself thats gone tits up and leaking through, or could be the gasket. Either way, it needs looking at and sorting it if is that. |

Nah, it takes ages before a puddle appears and its always been raining when ive been looking at it. I think the problem is that as it only happens after a run the engine is so hot it evaporates off any trace of where it has run from but cools and collects on the alternator. You're right, I'm going to jack it up tonight and have a look, might shed some light on it... Might just get a new pump and replace it if I cant find anything else...::sigh:: I love mycar really... ![]() Paul |
