Afternoon all,

Well after sorting the head/coolant out we now have the next two problems on the list.

1) Coolant leak, will cover that in another post.
2) When I stop the car it will intermittently start honking the horn and the PATS light will stay on steady. While this is happeneing the car wont start. All lights come on but turn the key and nothing, no crank, no click just nowt!

It is not the horn under the washer bottle its the one up under the scuttle panel next to the ECU plug that is honking. It will keep doing it for a variable amount of time and then just seems to fix itself.

Where the hell do I start with this? Is it a bad earth? Faulty door/bonnet switch? Faulty PATS module? Faulty alarm? Is it the PATS or the alarm? Arrggghhhh......

Paul

I had a similar fault, car wouldn't start, alarm sounding (definitely not the horn, was coming from same area you said). Happened a few times but the most problematic was after a long drive (so was nice and dry), parked up outside a dominos for some pizza and while inside waiting it just started going off.

In the end I had to rip open the driver side kick panel and rip the alarm module out. Replaced it with one I bought off danny on here since I already knew it was on the way out (Happened a few times, had a look inside and the circuit in one of the corners was toasted).

Anyway, replacing just the alarm module fixed it for me, assuming same symptoms, might work out the same for you?
