got the rear beam down, but cnt get the bushes out! tried using stainlessmoles suggestiong of drilling a shit load of holes but i snapped my drill bit (a bit too easily) is there an easier way? haynes says use a hammer and punch thing to get it out, but i have neither. will a chisel do to get the metal thing out of the middle? old bushes ![]() new bushes ![]() |

That should just push out from the other side... drop the rear beam as much as possible and whack it out from the other side. Might be easier to whack out the metal tube in the middle first ![]() |

Drill as many holes in as you can to weaken it then use a huge hammer to bash the fucker out!! |

Would a hole saw and a lot of lubriacation not be the best way forward? Cut round the metal bit and into the rubber from both sides?? Paul |

Nah i didn't take any pics ![]() I drilled the crap out of the little holes between the metal centre bit and the beam, so i could break the metal bit out with rubber with it lol and then i think i cut the remaining rubber out, or it was easy to push out... it was agess ago ![]() |

No Ben, not a hacksaw a Hole Saw. Thing that attaches to the drill and cuts big holes in stuff http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HOLE-SAW-BI-M ... 8011728526 Get the right sized one for where the three slots are and you should be laughing I would have thought. Need to keep it well lubricated though so the rubber doesn't melt and stick to and burn out the drill motor ![]() Paul |

On my beam the bush was vulcanised to the beam itself instead of being pushed in, try making a bearing pulled from a couple sockets and threaded bar snd wind it out, works on bmws |
