As per title really. I know it can be done by taking it through the top, but with a bit of hassle I'd imagine, but I really cant be bothered to disconnect the driveshafts and stuff to take the gearbox out at the same time to drop it out the bottom. But opinions/input is more than welcome ![]() |

Dropping. Easy. No crane required. I do recommend you get a bread crate on wheels. It then just allows you to slide it out and slide it back in with great ease. I done it with the Pulsar engine, gearbox and transferbox all connected, on my own, and it was a piece of piss. |

Bottom all day long. Taking engine out the top is a bitch, the angle you have to go at to get the box off in situ is a pig. Trust me. |

Don't Even need to take the shafts right out mate. Lever ten out the box and let them hang ![]() |

It'll still be jacked up and supported. The shafts will just be resting on the ground at one end so no damage will be done ![]() |

I'd run a bar across the top of the engine bay and hang them level with rope or something. |

if youve got a crane its just as easy to take engine out the top as bottom, i've taken engine out the top on the drive and out the bottom on a ramp, both pretty painless, (however you'll need an engine leveler to get the angle to clear the gearbox when lifting out the top, i one took an engine out the top just by undoing all gearbox mounts right hand engine mounts and levering the gearbox off with a crow bar (not recommended though) ![]() ![]() |

When I dropped mines out the bottom it lined up perfectly with the legs of the crane so I could just slide it up the legs of the crane and then pull them both clear once i'd dropped the car back on the axle stands ![]() Paul |
