As you may know I fitted a de-cat, all is well apart from it sounds blowy through the backbox if you know what I mean? Is this normal? I'll post a video tomorrow so you can hear what I mean. But it just sounds a bit rubbish ![]() |

Probably normal, it's all straight-through now so maybe it's come down to the fact that the exhaust bore size isn't right for your application? How does it sound driving along with a heavier foot? Most general N/A applications with 4 cylinders shouldn't need more than a 2.25" bore size - What exhaust system do you have? |

It sounds more raspy now, before it was quite a nice deep noise. Not sure what size the exhaust is but i use 2 1/8th inch clamps lol |

raspy is the way!! when a car is de-catted it does make a funny sort of blowy noise. i just de-catted the ignis, the exhaust isnt blowing but you an hear the air passing through the exhaust sort of noise if you get me. fiesta and arosa were both the same... |

but you have the added extra of boost ![]() its only blowy when you blip the throttle when you are at stand still, apart from that it seems ok tbh |

Yeah, it'll just be the reduction in back pressure now I imagine, so when you do put some gasses through it, it just sounds a bit piddly to start with ![]() |
