after about 2 hours, we gave up. was at a pals about to change the brakes and the bolts on the caliper would not budge, basically rounded one off so pretty fecked. both sides. tried everything... wd40, extra leverage, hitting the nuts as hard as we could, using a mallet to try make the spanner turn it... nothing ![]() ![]() oh and found a fuck load of rust too. cool. once again, pissed off that i couldnt do something! ![]() |

Yes the connectors can be cut. Where you using a six sided socket or one of the multi ones. With me I make a long bar of the socket set and stand on it, never failed yet. |

Six sided is best, unless youve really nakard it id go and buy the exact size socket and that should work because the one you where using must of been a tad too big. |

tried both percy mate, think one of them has rounded off. so im pretty pissed off. would try again but that was the only free time i have, and want them done before MOT so everything is out of the way for FF. you going btw? we used a 13mm and a 1/2, both didnt budge it at all. spent ages. one of the sockets started to break (havent got the best quality) i think my issue is my tools, i need better tools to be able to do this stuff and better range because everything either brakes or is just simply shit |

Tools really do make a difference. If you've got crap sockets they won't help. The Halfords kit has got me through a couple of clutch jobs and an complete engine rebuild with no breakages ![]() Next time drive to Brum and I'll do it all for you! ![]() |

Now, the only thing I can think is that you were trying the wrong bolts - caliper carrier bolts by any chance? ![]() |
