I have just bought an si. When accelerating, it hesitates for a few seconds (feels a bit like turbo lag) but when the power eventually kicks in, the car performs normally. This delay can be anything up to about 10 seconds. I have plugged my car into the OBD (on-board diagnostics tester) in college and it came up with 2 faults, one was AIR INTAKE and the other was NO o2 READING. Im guessing the o2 reading is probably the lambda sensor but im not sure it would effect acceleration. When I unplug the air-flow sensor, the problem goes but the car is generally a lot slower. Does this definatly mean that the air flow sensor needs replacing or could the problem be something else? any ideas? many thanks, Emlyn (sorry its quite a long post lol) |

it sounds like it'll be lambda sensor, MAF or TPS(throttle position sensor) you could try cleaning the MAF, and if that doesnt cure it try changing the lambda sensor JJ |
