hi i have a couple of questions first
how hard is it to change ad what problems will i come against?
Is it best to change the water pump at the same time and which one should i use1.6 or 2.0?
And which cambelt should i use?

Changing it pretty easy. Problems you will have from experience is changing the 2 idler pulleys (need changing - comes in the kit) as they are in a pretty awkward place to get a torx bit onto, so you have to undo the engine mount, lower the engine slightly and you can get to them. Water pump is probably a good idea to change if you dont know the history of the engine, not sure which one to use, I know you need to change the pulley though when doing the conversion, so I would guess its would be ok to use the 2.0 one. Someone might say different. Cambelt - 2 litre, although I think both are the same, but to save any problems, use 2 litre. |

yes 1.6 water pump jamie cos the pump on the mondeo engine pumps the opposite way

Fit a full cambelt kit and a new 1.6 water pump, if your good with spanners and have a haynes manuel or auto data then you shouldn't have any major problems, only thing i can think of giving you any problems are access to the water pump lower bolts and idler bolts, spend a tenner and get the proper timing alignment kit too from a motor factors for less than a tenner, and always double check timing marks and turn the engine over by hand before you try start the engine |
