ok, so ive got a knocking noise, more specifically - it feels like a ball joint so dead its moving back and forth when i stop... so ive stripped it down.

can'ee see fek all wrong with any ball joints.

dont no why i didnt think like this when i was putting it all together (be it a few years ago...) but i think heres my prob:

as u can see, the thread, then a step, then the shaft

furthermore when the top spring cup is in its, it moves back and forth:

but it does sit snuggly on the rest of the shaft.

So really my question if you have avos and remember putting them together...

1. do your top spring cups fit nicely on the step? or is there ment to be some sort of shim/spacer thing to get rid of the step?

My pics are crap, but from what I can see, the spring cup is meant to sit on the step, I have a couple of pics of them stripped down and there are no extra spacers or anything. So I would assume your spring cups need renewing or perhaps just the bush inside if thats replaceable. I cant remember from when I refurbished mine

Same lol. I need two new damping adjustment screws on the rear. One has snapped off and one is lose. I forgot I put them on the wrong way around :( Put the scews facing to the rear not front so the beam was touching them and snapped one off and damaged the other.
