IVE CURRENTLY GOT A MK3.5 1.1 FIESTA AND HAVE JUST BOUGHT A 1.8 ZETEC ENGINE FROM AN ESCORT GTI I AM BUYING A SPARES OR REPAIRS SI FOR ALL THE RUNNING GEAR FOR THIS CONVERSION I AM JUST AFTER SOME ADVICE ON HOW TO DO THIS, ANY PROBLEMS THAT MAY OCCUR AND ANY OTHER HELP OR INFORMATION WOULD BE GREAT MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE IAIN |

you will need engine mounts from a zetec e engined fiesta or custom mounts bro also id advise changing brakes as the 1.1 stoppers will be crap with the gti engine in and someone must know about the pats edis problem you may/will encounter with the ecu and looms etc i am afraid...... do not |

AS FOR THE MOUNTS ILL BE USING THE SI MOUNTS ARE THEY JSUT BOLT ON OR DO THEY NEED MODDING IM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH BRAKES AS IT HAS A SET OF 13" REVOLUTIONS ON IT. THE BRAKES ON THE SI IM BUYING WILL BE TOO BIG SO THE ONLY THING I CAN THINK OF IS THE VENTED KA DISKS WHATS THE PATS PROBLEM IVE BEEN HEARING? |

I'm doing this myself atm too, heres a list of parts you will need fiesta si 1.6 engine mount gearbox with ratios to suit as the 1.1 box will be crap on fuel fiesta si engine loom fiesta si full exhaust system ecu for a 1.8, the gti ecu is a 'SLUG' ecu with internal edis and internal pats, a way to get around the pats is to either have the escort gti key fixed to the pats pick up ring and pluged into the ecu/wiring loom still, or look for a mk3.5 rs1800 ecu which you will have to pay a premium for fiest si fuel tank with inbuilt pump fuel lines 1.8 maf sensor 1.8 injectors with inlet manifold 1.8 throttle body as for brakes and suspension, if your set on keeping your 13" revolutions you will need a minimum of fiesta si brake with the vented discs and some green stuff pads or if you can afford it, drilled and grooved discs, rs turbo brakes will also fit and be enough to stop a 1.8 i'd also look at better suspension from the likes of the si also |

cars already set up on Gmax suspension so sorted that you know you said use the 1.8 ECU what about using the SI ECU or will it just not work let me know how you get off with the conversion as i was supposed to start last sat but am looking at doing it this weekend now |

The si ecu (GURU) would work enough to get the car running, but would be terrible to drive as the fueling and timing wouldn't be right, escort gti ecu (SLUG) with the key and transponder ring or mk3.5 rs1800 ecu is what you need (CULT) |
