hello my starter motor is on its way out just got a 2nd hand one does any one have a technique on removal of the bolts i cant get at them is there anything i can remove to get at the starter easier? many thanks nicko |

it is a nightmare of a job, there is a protection plate that should come of first but its really hard to get into the bolts for that aswell |

remove the air filter assembly and the fan, makes it loads easier then u should be able to get to the bolts with a 6" extension on the ratchet, u can get access to the bolt closest to the back of the car from underneath, thers a little gap between the gearbox cradle that u can get the ratchet into

depends what type of starter motor you have some where longer than others, if its the short one its a doddle
