 Post subject: starter motor removal

hello
my starter motor is on its way out just got a 2nd hand one does any one have a technique on removal of the bolts i cant get at them is there anything i can remove to get at the starter easier?

it is a nightmare of a job, there is a protection plate that should come of first but its really hard to get into the bolts for that aswell

remove the air filter assembly and the fan, makes it loads easier then u should be able to get to the bolts with a 6" extension on the ratchet, u can get access to the bolt closest to the back of the car from underneath, thers a little gap between the gearbox cradle that u can get the ratchet into :thumbsup:

depends what type of starter motor you have some where longer than others, if its the short one its a doddle :)
