built 3 of the coilovers, on the last one (front) however im trying to secure the top mount to it, but the shock turns with it, even when i try to adjust the damping setting. other front one was okay. any idea how i stop this? cant fit any adjustable spanner in to stop it from spinning???? thanks, ben |

10mm spanner (I think) you should see marks on the top of the shock on the dampening adjuster, it should fit the spanner nicely, this should stop it from spinning. so you turn the nut and keep the spanner on the ridges so it doesn't move ![]() |

You gripped the piston itself? Bad move, shouldnt do that because it could damage it and tear the seals. I wouldnt advise having any of the shocks on the hardest setting either, soft ftw |

Softest setting for the road! When at santa pod I pushed my wing down and it was a little bouncy ![]() And yes, should have listened to meeee I forgot to say about the gripping of the Piston being a bad move |

The AVO coilovers work differently Chris, especially the fronts. They use rebound damping as apposed to bump daming. Thats where reading up on how to set them up properly comes into play as I believe the rear are bump damping. So they work differently. |

Its ok to grip the piston ( chrome strut in the center) aslong as you do it as high on the shock as possible, as this part of the piston will never reach the seal. ![]() |
