Axle spacers are easy to fit, jack to car up and rest on axle atands, remove the wheels, remove the 30mm hub nut, knock the drum off, remove the 4 19mm nuts holding the stub axle on, underneath the stub axle there will be 2 rivets holding the backing plate (that the brake shoes are attached to) to the rear beam, drill these 2 out gently tap the backing plate off, fit the axle spacer on and bolt the stub axle back on, there is no need to use rivits again, they are only used as a guide for the 4 19mm bolts, then refit in reverse order Cheap tip, ford ka's come with axle spacers as standard |

its not ballache and its much better than spacing out the wheels on the studs, seeing as you'll have less stud for the nut to screw onto, whereas with spacers on the axle you get longer bolts etc so nothing really changes. Might be more stress on the studs spacing the wheels out more ![]() |

yeah true, maybe that's why yours shanked? only 5mm though so cant see it doing too much damage, just make sure they're nice and tight |
