Hey Guys, little stuck with an issue here, had to change the manifold gasket as was blowing and sounded terrible, i loosened the turbo and pull it to one side so i could remove the zetec to cvh adaptor, as i was doing there there was a fair size spark from the alternator/starter motor, they both have a large live cable from the battery, since doing this i now have no power on the dash, no power to the coil no reverse light and no power to the injectors, first thought it obviously check fuses fuse number 20 was blown so i replaced but still no power, the pats led doesn't light up. the fuel pump doesn't prime, so i figured it must be relays, the usual culprits for this is usually one of the 2 power relays, the green relay or one of the 2 big red relays, however these were all swapped out and still no power, just as a tester i placed 2 large red relays next to each other which powered the dash and engine fan without the ignition being switched on, has anyone had a similar issue whereby there is no power to the dash/coil/injectors/ just a minor note, the radio comes on, the interior light works, and all fuses were triple checked, i noticed the relays in my car are pretty out of date i previously swapped same colour relays from mk4/mk5 fiesta's which seemed to work fine, can someone advise if there are other relays which will work as some of the SI relays im using are difficult to find, i noticed alot of newer fords have a black engine relay? and multiple yellow and green relays. thanks in advance |

Problem now solved, replaced all relays and fuses in the fuse box from a working vehicle to confirm these weren't the issue, checked all earths and other cables, to cut a long story short i fried a pin in the plug which connects the ignition barrel switch to the loom, cleaned up the melted plastic for which which has got it running and will repair it with a new piece of wire. |

Unfortunately i Melted the pistons/pistons cracked and bits broke off on the m25? at low rpm and low boost? last week so engine is scrap rs1800 going back in, i will be tearing the engine down measuring the clearances and sending the pistons back to JE pistons USA for investigation. |

when ever disconnecting the manifold always disconnectthe battery as the manifold if touches the postive and negative terminals on the starter can fry the ecu and as in your case the relays |
