Post subject: | Inlet manifolds?? |
Ok so after reading this months fast ford magazines special on inlets I'm just trying to figure a few standard manifolds out. The 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 zetecs have similar inlets slightly bigger than the next. Theres a HO inlet thats massive. The escort gti and focus both have plastic manifolds (are they the same??) both of which fit the zetec engine. Is this correct? Fast ford reckon that the gti manifold is the best for a turbo application if wanting to use oem stuff (or on a budget as jenvey and area 6 bespoke items come in at £600+) Any help is gratefully appreciated ![]() |

Yeah all the aluminium LO inlets are similar, its mainly just the ports that are different sizes, and possibly insides too, not 100% sure. But ports are deffo different sizes. HO is used on things like RS1800 engine, and maybe a couple of others. Its a lot better than the other aluminium ones as it gives you the most potential for power on that style of inlet. I dont think the plastic ones from the focus and escort are the same, I cant say for certain though. But yet, on a budget turbo conversion regarding inlets, the plastic ones from a focus are more than capable of producing 300+ bhp. I will have a look on microcat tomorrow to see if they have the same part numbers, that will confirm if they are the same or not. Like I said, I cant say for certain if they are the same or not, they might well be! |
