well ive bought a Escort gti lump after getting bored of searching for 2.0's. Just wondering what needs changing over? is it the same as the 2.0? obviously i know the loom, fuel tank and ecu need changing along with the mounts, but what about the sump? inlet mani? and so on. Also what ecu do i need to run? a SLUG? Cheers

i'm pretty sure it'll drop straight in, if not the only things i can think of that "might" require swapping would be the sump and pick up, pretty sure the GTi's use the ally inlet like the Si's you going for a 130 spec 1.8? if so might be worth looking for an rs1800 ecu, or you might need to find out if the escort ecu is a plug and play affair with the Si loom as the Si ecu's are internal edis and external pats! |

The GTi uses a plastic inlet and can fit without modification got one fitted to my engine has either the same size or slighty bigger ports than the HO inlet i had on before

gti engine will drop straight engine, uses the same oil pump, sump, oil pic up, dip stick and water pump, can use the inlet manifold if you want as it'll fit no probs, but there are better ones available, exhaust manifold fits too, |
