top mounts?, drop links? have you checked the ball joints for play and the bushes in the wishbones as well as looking at them? |

You shock could be knackered like mine. jack it up and get something under the wheel and lift it up and see if the shock drops down or rebounds down. |

if your taking the top mounts out to inspect them, you may aswel buy new ones from ford, as they only cost £4 each, or buy polythurane items |

only way to check the drop links is to tkae them off and check the resistance same for the ball joint there could be a bit of play but you wont realy tell until you drop it off |

Thats not true at all lol. How do you think they check them in MOT's and servicing? They jack up the car and check by basically shaking the wheel side to side and up and down, that will give a very clear indication of the ball joints or lower arm bushes gone as you will see and feel it move thought the wheel and also when you feel the drop link while someone does it for you. Drop links can be tested with use of some sort of bar to lever on levering the ARB up and down to check for play and/or by grabbing hold of it with your hand and checking for play which you will feel instantly. Have you sorted this yet btw Rob? lol |
