Hi all, we all no and heard of Sunny Khalsa the man who got he's fiesta zetec turbo to 180 mph.

Well I've been thinking that I haven't heard if anyone trying to or have broken he's record, I just was just wondering what you all though about the idea of trying to smash the record and aim for the 200 mph barrier, nothing is impossible so I just wanted to no your views and opinions on what you think.

For starters I was thinking of maybe twin turbo or a Nascar turbo or something along those lines and most probably be rear wheel drive.

Yeah it will be a long time int the making and a lot money and time and dedication but boy won't it be worth it in the end

If you read the last FF I think it was, its a hell of a lot of work to get to 200mph. its more than just power. Its aerodynamics. exact gear ratios. precision driving, and also a place to actual attempt it!
There are a lot of things to consider and a lot of money in it.

I don't want to put a damper on it, it's a great idea.... But then so is a brand new car, a couple of extra holidays in the year and an extension on the house

How much did Sunny spend in the end, I used to speak to him but that was a good 7/8 years ago! I hear he grew up and had babies and that stuff adults do

i got in mind my 2 litre zetec bore out to 2.1 / 2.2 litre. steel con rods, and crank. Forged racing pistons have to dry sump it as well. Tubular manifold, with a area six zero loss inlet manifold the cylinder head will have to be very well machined, gear box im not sure just yet. Gaz suspension with everything all done. Rear disc conversion with ap racing ST150 brakes carbon bonnet and boot completly gugt the interior alloy fuel tank. Thats prettty as much as i can think of at the mo.

I'd have to say it's just not worth it. It would be awesome to see, yes, but for the 15 minutes of fame, no.

Stuff using a ford engine, use something else. Thats what I say! I mean lets face it, you must realise how much its going to cost to do this right? Ok it IS possible to get 180mph out of a ford engine, its been proven. But your not going to get that much more and much more power from it.

With all the money your going to spend on a zetec trying and trying, why not use something which we know can do the speed and put even more power out? Something jap perhaps. I dunno, supra or skyline - there are a fair few vids of them topping 200 and more, plus they can kick out serious bhp... im sure there are loads of engines that can do that, but my head is too tired trying to think and they popped into my head lol.

I mean, if your really serious about it, you will spend the time and money making an engine fit.. front or rear, doesnt matter, but you will make it work!

Admittedly it will require ALOT of time and money, and yeah for the 15mins of fame its not worth it. But lets face it, people get nowhere in life if they dont try and have these 15mins of fame, right?

its not just the engine a mk3 fiesta is not aerodynamic

A cossie engine makes more sense, they can do that speed and on a smaller car it will be more likely to happen
