Which managment are you using? Leads on the correct way? Correct cps sensor and cps mount used with the flywheel and box? |

the ecu i am using is a desk mndeo ecu not to sure about the leads on the correct way, the crank sensor is the one that came from the mondeo silver top engine and i am not sure what flywheel is being used and it has a escort van 1.8 gearbox |

if your using the escort box then you will be using an escort/fiesta flywheel, when you change the flywheel, you need to change the cps and its holder to suit the flywheel, check in the mk3 1.6 to 2.0 conversion, then the cps sensor, will explain it better than i can |

sounds like the fuel is not igniting properly thats why your getting flames out the back could be the crankshaft sensor m8 breaking down, what flywheel is on the car? and have you put the leads in the right order number 1 from the cambelt end not the coil pack end as that will cause firing issues |

It could be the cps sensor as it's designed for the 2 litre not for the 1.6 1.8 flywheel. Basically it's not picking up the signal properly and can be cause it to spark too late and that's probes why she's backfiring and not starting. Check and make sure. |

any pics of the conversion mate i'm doing the same but with a 2.0 blacktop. What rad and pipe work have you gone for ? and as for your problem is timing all correct have you got the leads from the coilpack on the right plugs etc so firing in the right order any air leaks? |
