should heat up as quick as the engine, how long does the temperature gauge take to rise? could be thermostat stuck open, are the pipes geting hot feeding the matrix hence no air locks? finally if engine temperature rises normally but not heater are the heater controls working ok? eg the flap letting air from the matrix? |

After a 15min journey it will get warm, if i have the blowers on to clear the screen it will take even longer, but if i leave it ticking over before a journey for 10/15mins then put the blowers on, they will blow out hot air for about a min then go back to being warm again, ive checked the water pipes off the rad and they get red hot, and i know for certain its not air locked, i'll change the thermostat for a new one, clean out the housing and reverse flush the matrix 2moro evening and hopefully i should have some hot air for once, cheers guys |

Oh, and its definatly not the controls or the flap not working as i removed them about 5 weeks ago to fix a waterleak in the baulkhead snd i inspected it all then |

im sure thats about right for old car, not like modern day wonders that seem to have instant heat but look at how much more advanced the systems are!! |

Hmm, i'll do it anyway as its dirt cheap for a thermostat, i used to havd a 1.1 and a 1.3 and there heaters would blow out red hot air all the time no matter what, thats basically what im aiming for now |

cheers for your help guys, last question now, which way does the water circulate through the matrix? from the thermostat housing to the matrix then to the T piece off the expansion tank, or from the T piece to the matrix to the thermostat? |

when you put the fan on the windscreen (to reduce the condensation), and close the normal ones. is it normally that it doesnt throw a lot of air ? |
