hi fellas reading the forums i thought getting only luke warm air through the heaters was the HCV but now ive been told that my car doesnt have one(94 si)is this right ? ****how do i "back flush" the heater matrix.**** there are two pipes about 25mm on the left hand side of the engine baygoing to the fire wall and going in and out of a small, finned unit in front of the rad.are these also to and from the heater matrix ? i tried bleeding the system by running the engine till warm and sqeezing pipes and did notice some bubbles into the header tank, and a half a degree rise in heater temp. engine temp normal. heater controls leavers are working. changed the thermostat. ![]() |

just ripped all my heater set up out of 1.6Si, water flows through matrix all the time, and mechanical levers operate a damper on the air side to let warm air flow or not. The water flows from the rear of the thermostat housing on the right to the hose from a tee on the left from behind the head light area. may be easy to stick a hose on it anf flush it |

Has the car sat for a long period of time unused? Not sure were the hoses are routed in the Fiesta, but find were they meet the pipes. If you're flushing the system, pull of the hose off the pipes, and stick a screwdriver in there nice 'n' deep like. |
