i belive its been mentioned on here before about the possibility of shimming the shock to make it a better fit but not tried it, apart from that options are changing hubs or getting right shocks that fit |

I know 3.5 shafts are different to mk 3 so may need changing. |

Yeah basically the whole front end is slightly different between the 3 and 3.5. |

best thing to do is fit the shocks and springs meant for you car/engine, as the mk3 shocks have a smaller diameter leg, so to fit mk3 shocks on to a mk3.5, you will need the shocks, hubs, driveshafts and either ball joints to match, there are about 5 different types of ball joint (tapered cone, staright cone, staggered cone, the the angle of the joint for non p/s models and p/s models) ive got a k reg mk3 1.4 cvh, which i fitted mk3.5 shocks/ hubs/ driveshafts/ and ball joints, i had to use ball joints from a 1.8xr2i/puma, its ok to do it this way but when yopu swap mk3.5 stuff for the mk3 stuff its not as firm becuase the mk3's had lighter/less powerful engines hope this helps |

you can shim them out i did it with a set of mk3 avo's in to a si hub iirc you need a 0.6mm thick shim |
