Post subject: | ECU needed - Help |
I have just dropped the 2 litre modeo lump in my si about a month ago, and tbh the result is not as pleasing as i thought so will have to get a better ecu. I am told that only the mondeo ecu code DEEP, DESK or DEWY will swap straight in to the fez. If anyone has one of these can you get in touch asap as atm im gettin smoked by my m8's 1.6 toyato corolla vvti and corsa 1.8 sri, very dissapointing ![]() Thanks Daniel |

I assume you are on a 1.6 ECU? it should still go pretty well. It might be worth trying Ebay and local scrap/breakers yards too. Good luck. |

Yea i am, but the ECU has a giant dead spot in it so it pulls pretty good then doesnt really pick up till about 5000rpm. I could get it remapped but would still want the 2.0 ECU in the end anyway and money is as usual, tight. I look at ebay everyday for it and i can find every single ECU but the one I need lol, and have gone to many scrappys and searched on sites like '24/7 spares' and 'breakeryard' but still nothing. Thought I would try my luck and see if anyone has given up on their 2.0 project and selling it. But cheers, thanks for your help mate. ![]() |

Are you running the rs1800 HO manifold aswell? A mate had a 2l with all the 2l bits but was still on the SO manifold and performance was very poor still Didnt look very hard then lol/ First one one mondeo mk1 ecu http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/mondeo-ecu-/20052 ... 2eb01442bf |

Post subject: | Re: ECU needed |
ye it fits straight on, youll be wanting the throttle body off the rs1800 too, or a 2.0 throttle body but u have to modify them to fit rite for the fiesta |

Post subject: | Re: ECU needed |
Ive put the 2 litre ecu on and now my fez aint running rite at all, it stalls, jolts like its gna cut out all the time, and there is no power really, slower than b4, wen i put my foot all the way dwn it just jolts. :S Is it possible to put the ecu on the wrong way round or wouldnt it even start, coz i dropped the old ecu as soon as i got it out and forgot which way it came out... |

Post subject: | Re: ECU needed |
iirc they can only go in 1 way! what ecu did you get? deep, desk or dewy? mine did a similar thing when my maf was knackered, you tried unplugging yours? or have you tried unplugging other sensors while it idles and seeing if they affect it? |

Post subject: | Re: ECU needed |
I have been told by a few people its the maf sensor, and that i need the 2.0 one. It doesnt change in idling when i disconnect the sensor, can you drive it with it disconnected?? I got the DESK ecu. Also are all ford 2.0 MAF's the same?? |

Post subject: | Re: ECU needed |
ive disconnected mine on my 2.0 mk2 as i dont have the correct size piping to fit it ![]() what maf have you got on there at the moment? i think all the 2.0 seilver top mafs are the same, if you have a 2.0 maf try giving the filiments a clean first see if that works ![]() |

Post subject: | Re: ECU needed |
I put the 2litre mondeo MAF metre on 2day een though i didnt have the correct size piping, and the car was jugging no matter where the throttle pedal was, and stalled constantly, so had to put the 1.6 metre bak on. Does is sound like the 2.0 ecu needs remapping maybe, or its just a dead one or something?? |

Post subject: | Re: ECU needed |
have you tried running it without the maf on at all? disconnect the ecu for 30mins - 1hr and let it re-learn stuff without the maf like i said mine was exactly the same with my maf so i've left it disconnected ![]() ![]() is your engine a standard 2.0? i'm pretty sure its just a dead maf, try running without one for a while see how that goes and see if you can source another one ![]() where abouts are you located? |

Im in harrow, north west london. It cuts out wen i disconnect the maf sensor lol. I hav had to put the 1.6 ecu bak in for now, i cant stand the juggin anymore. Do the think maybe the ecu needs to be remapped or something?? |

Post subject: | Re: ECU needed |
drop me a pm with you post code i'll see how far away from me you are, might be able to pop up or something so you can try my ecu ![]() hmmm... very odd does it run ok with the 1.6 ecu connected? if your 2.0 engine is standard then no, as ive fitted an rs1800 inlet, 4-2-1 manifold and an air filter to mine and it runs spot on, even without a maf connected ![]() |

Post subject: | Re: ECU needed |
Yea it runs fine no matter what i do until i change the ecu to the 2.0 one, so i can only assume that its a faulty ecu?? |
