its your luck i have a haynes manuel nest to me ![]() 1. open door and detach the door aperture weatherseal from around the hinge area. 2. Remove the screw securing the door check arm to the body. 3. Squeeze the ears together on the electrical multiplug and withdraw it from its body location on the A pillar, as applicable. Disconnect multiplug. 4. Using a screwdriver, remove the door hinge pin retaining clips from the top of both hinges, by levering them off. 5. Ford dealers use a special tool for removing door hinge pins. if this is not available, it is possible to fabricate an alternative. Engage the special tool, then strike the main body of the tool with a soft-faced hammer to extract the lower hinge pin from its location. 6. With help the help of an assistant to support the door, remove the upper hinge pin from its location, in a similar manner to that used for the lower hinge pin, and remove the door assemble. Hope that helps, there is an illistration for the tool in section 5 but im sure if you google image it you will see what it looks like ![]() |

Yeah that is a clip remover. The best alternative to the tool described is a spanner. 11mm, thin but strong. Needs to be long too, which is incredibly rare. Then bash like a madman with a hammer. After removing the clip at the other end of course. Other methods are heating and using a chisel to knock off the head then using a punch to push the pin through. Obviously this method needs you to replace the pin, lol. |

the pins can be and usually are a right wanker to get out. ive got a tool in my collection for getting them out now...a foot of 1" x 1" x 1/8th box section with a gusseted angle on the end with a slot in. guy i used to work with made it when the car was being caged.. along with a coulple of other bits ![]() Jam. |
