right then some of you may know my gearbox is poo and makin a noise on hard revs that noise has now been drowned out by a very loud air drill sounding noise everytime i take the revs of while driving its like a very high pitched wine n it can be heard far and wide anybody have any ideas as im not changin the box til next week and iv got bout 300 miles to cover til then lol

Nakard gearboxes are the future lol. Is it just on decelleration? |

yeah and jus when rollin like its a rite nasty noise lol i knew my box was bad but its jus gettin worse lol |

have you a supercharger under the bonnet  if you have 300 miles id take it easy on the gearbox so that means driving like a granny and gradually building up the speed

no takin it easy for me its jus gone coming home from my mates bout ten ish the 'supercharger whine' was gettin worse it then started clunking through gears until it spat its dummy out and would let me move the gearstick into any gear but 1st lol so i plundered on in first thinkin 'im only 100yrds away' and then another big clunk and lots of steam and smoke from the stinky oil that flew out the box dont kno exactly where it let go yet the great thing bout living with ur parents is they will rescue you in times of need lol my stepdad (who is to blame for my love of fords) came with a brand new tow rope for me its gettin into a garage first thing 2moz as i hav a nice rs1800 box and selector to be put on dont ya jus love an old ford lol roll on the morning peace |

mate i cant help but giggle bout it as it was inevitable really jus abit sooner than expected lol good job i bought a box first oh n the mess it left on the road that stuff is gonna stink for ages i jus hope my crank seal is still there as dont wan2 of lost any engine oil n broke owt else gonna check the level now jus thinkin bout that |

thank fook the e oil is still there, one less nightmare to worry about, least she sounded like a supercharger for a while tho  hope ya get her fixed without any hidden damage

Im glad nothing like that has happened to mine because my clutch isnt that old. Oh yeah btw I started spraying my vents on my rst bonnet so i should have it on this week coming so you as im off work so you need to get yours on lol |

well im gonna see the guy n ask if he will hold it. he should do as hes sound like iv got them items to buy plus gettin the box in and posibly havin to buy a new clutch
