ok so my problems on the Rs are as follows, ignition lights stays on, rear sidelights stay on when engine is turned off and key is taken out fan doesnt kick in when car gets to temp, no interior light, no interior clock.

now i have this yellow relay under my bonnet or did have till my mate disconnected it, everything seemed to be fine till he did that, now i aint the foggies how it goes, it had thermo, fan ignition and battery connected to it, any ideas, pic enclosed

Make sure the connections on that relay arent nackered, check the wires. Check the relay.

Make sure all your earths are okay, as that could cause it.

i dont actually have it connected any more, i was wondering do you know which wires connect to which pins on the relay ??

Wouldnt know personally as I have only had experience with zetecs in a fiesta...

Also get a proper relay holder, or at least bolt it up, it looks rough having it laying like that

Ive never seen any relays in that area before, I know there is nothing like that on mine so its possibly something thats been added on at a later stage....

ok sorry to double post, i think ive found the problem, it is set up to always run the fan and thermo, how do i take the wiring back to standard ?

I would worry more about why somebody set it to do that.

wierd, ok ive put it down to a faulty fan switch, how does your wiring go, ?? ive tried combo's all day

looks like a case of butchered wiring

is the engine ok?

yeah engine starts fine and ive corrected every other problem, just can't get the fan to come on with the fan switch, only way i can get it to work is if i run it off the ignition, which i dont really want to do as it puts a strain on the alternator and tbh sounds shit, will most likely end up going down the fitting a manual over ride switch inside the cabin and will just have to remember to keep an eye on the temp gauge.
