Right teeoooo... First offf...
It starts first time everytime and then you go to put it in drive (Auto) and it cuts out.

I recently changed the MAF sesor as apparently that was the problem and it solved it for a few weeks and now the problem is back.

Apparently the problem could be the idle valve sensor but i dunooooo

Does the car move or jerk when putting it in drive? Do the revs instantly drop off like turning it off via the key, or does it stubbornly die?

As soon as i move it into drive it just instantly dies. No jerks, revs im not sure about i will have to check lol

I have to start the car on average 8-12 times for it to actually pull away.

I'm not big at all on automatic boxes, but I think it tells the ecu to do something different in drive, different to park. Try it in reverse and other positions. Try first then drive as you've got going.

Worst, could be a dead/dying box, best just a loose wire.

1. what car is it?
2. it could be the linkage betwen the gear shifter to the box not putting it into the correct gear and making it die. i had that before. i no it sounds strange but true.
3. is the MAF sensor the correct one for the car and was it reprogammed into the car (ecu)

as its a mk4 fiesta it should be the right age car to have a diagnostic. their only about £30 for one and that will tell ya rooughly the area what is wrong.
