hey all been doing alot of reading on here o the 1.6si to 2.0 mondy engine. my question is how diffrent is the mk 3.5 1.6si to the mk3.5 1.4si in comparason e.g. engine mountings etc, or will i need to do alot to this car to do the 2.0 conversion being that i have the 1.4 or will it be pretty much the same?? thanks Madz |

i dont know much on the subject but i presume fitting the rst 1.6 lump in would be easier for similar power as it is a cvh |

thanks for the reply, i dont know 2 much about cars engines at the mo but am learning slowly electrics in teh car is my speciality ![]() on a side note this site is rammed full of ideas heh got the mind working overdrive now.... thanks again Madz |

The engine mounts will need changing, you will need to get both front and rear (i think rear too) engine mounts from a 1600 si, once they are inplace, the engine is good to bolt in, then you will need to get a zetec engine wiring loom - from a 1.6 si again, then get the engine, ecu, and other bits for the conversion - sump ect ect ect (all info for conversion is on the site). Then basically, its all ready to do in. Not the hardest conversion ever. If your after a little bit more power and want a cheap replacement, get a 1.6 cvh engine from an xr2i... other than that, go zetec. ![]() |
