ok so before I've even managed to mend the wishbone issue or fix the reverse light problem. I have another one!

Wobbly speedo, lost my stomach when it happened as its usually a sign of something with the gearbox....

Well it only wobbles when cold (so the first 5 minutes of driving) and doing 40-50 in 4th/5th gear. Bar that it doesn't stray a bit, but when it does the wobble is pretty drastic.
First saw this on tuesday on the way to Staines. Saw it today on the way to valley park in Croydon.

I'm about to admit defeat with this car
Any idea as to the underlying reason for this?

i had a simliar issue with my fez and i just replaces my speedo cable which seemd to sort it out, could also be the little plastic drive pinion in the top of the box, that lies underneather the speedo cable? i think this is something to do with the speedo anyways

but it was a pain to do and never ever will i attempt to do it again

like onslack says it sounds like the pinion on the cable, biatch to change though

don't admit defeat it's nice

i have a wobbly speedo. it kinda entertains me when its dancing between 60 and 70mph

I have a star trek speedo.

As mentioned sounds like its probably not much of a problem and cheap (but a pain) to fix.

yep someone said the speedo cable could also be slack so gonna give it a gentle tug from the engine side and see if it stops the needle wooble. Dad said something similar to me as well. Although he isn't touching the car after the clutch on the 1.1

The car is only nice when it gets pampered, definitely a female car

It drives me mental just doing it when it does and thats only for a short time. If I had to put up with it for longer I'd have no hair left

these things are sent to test us, my ST will randomly cut out, and i have no idea why

take your time cars are lovely when there going ok, but byitches when there not, just think of it as another thing done off the list
the only thing is that list just keeps getting longer with my car

Well it was just a lose speedo cable for those that didn't know
So thats of the list and replaced with windscreen repair.
