Post subject:  What Sensors Effect MPG ?

Obviously the lambda sensor effects MPG and i've also read this can effect idle as well. The other sensor I know of is the one in the top of the thermostat housing as if that isnt working the engine thinks it is cold so overfuels

Any other sensors that can cause overfueling ? I filled up Monday night and the car took 32 litres and had done just over 120 miles so about 18 MPG which definately shows something is not right

I'm going to get it on an emissions machine to hopefully pinpoint the lambda is at fault but wondered if there were any other sensors I could look at changing as well

I have recently cleaned the MAF and reset the ECU but this hasnt changed anything between tanks of fuel

Cheers

Scott

Ordered a new Lambda sensor from eBay so will get that swapped over when it arrives and have the emissions checked again but it is definately running rich after having it checked on an emissions machine

main ones iirc call are the MAF, Lambda and the coolant temp sensor, not sure which other ones will effect MPG :red:
